At the 2009 NFL Rookie Premier Photoshoot in LA on May 16, Upper Deck held a touchdown dance competition. The winner would receive an authentic autographed Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls jersey. there was some stiff competition from guys like Mark Sanchez, Matt Stafford, Jason Smith and Aaron Curry… but ultimately there could only be one touchdown dance champion. Our boy Knowshon Moreno!

Check out his dance and prize acceptance in this video.

hey, so knowshon is currently the 2nd-string tailback. how long do you think that will last? i have a feeling that they do that to the rookies so they don’t get big heads, until they learn the offense, etc. but i predict knowshon will be the main man at tailback once it’s really time to play. this is from the denver post:

Hold on, kids.

It’s way early, but so far veterans are holding off the Broncos’ top draft picks for first-string positions.

Correll Buckhalter is the first-string tailback, ahead of first-round pick Knowshon Moreno. Elvis Dumervil and Darrell Reid are at the defensive end positions, ahead of first-round pick Robert Ayers.

Apparently, Moreno is currently the #3 tailback:

Broncos’ 2 first-rounders adjusting to NFL

ENGLEWOOD, Colo.(AP)—Knowshon Moreno’s(notes) imagination, not his legs, ran wild as he recently choreographed a creative skit that earned him top honors at a touchdown celebration competition.

Using the football as an imaginary chain saw, the Denver Broncos rookie running back tugged on a string and then hacked down the goal post, even stepping aside as he pretended to give it room to tumble.

Just don’t expect to see an encore performance in a game, which would draw a flag and the wrath of coach Josh McDaniels.

But he’s got plenty of other moves – just as imaginative – stored away, waiting for their debut.

First, though, he has to find a way to get into the end zone.

Moreno is currently running third behind LaMont Jordan(notes) and Correll Buckhalter(notes) as he absorbs McDaniels’ complicated offensive scheme.

Although it’s early, Moreno, the 12th pick in the NFL draft six weeks ago, feels like he’s making progress.

“I’m catching it, starting to get the hang of it,” said Moreno, who captured Upper Deck’s rookie touchdown celebration crown in Los Angeles last month by hauling out his hilarious stunt. “But at times I’m spinning a little bit.”

Fellow first-round pick Robert Ayers(notes) is digesting the defense rather quickly. Ayers, the 18th overall pick, has been splitting time between the first and second teams through passing camp.

“I think I’m doing pretty good,” Ayers said. “But there’s a lot of room for improvement.”

With the Broncos switching to a 3-4 scheme, Ayers will play more of a hybrid role as he alternates between lineman and linebacker.

“One thing I’ve learned in this defense is you can do a lot of different things from a lot of different formations,” Ayers said. “We can call one play and depending on what the offense comes out, we can have five or six different things we can do. That’s the biggest thing, not just knowing the play call, but that your assignment can change mid-play. That’s the biggest curve for me.”

With his relentless style of play, Ayers resembles fellow Tennessee product and former Broncos Pro Bowl linebacker Al Wilson(notes).

He even wears Wilson’s familiar No. 56 – not that it was on purpose.

After the draft, Ayers asked for jersey No. 91, which he wore in college, but since that was taken, settled on 56.

Once he realized it was Wilson’s old jersey number, he called Wilson to get his blessing.

“He said it’s always good to have a guy from Tennessee representing him,” Ayers said.

Ayers isn’t comfortable with the comparisons to Wilson, becoming fidgety when the subject was broached.

“I could never be an Al Wilson whether I got his number, his cleats, whatever I put on of his,” Ayers said. “I’ll never be another Al Wilson. I’m just going to try to be Robert Ayers and play my game, and bring my type of intensity and do the things I do well. … That’s one of the things he told me, just be myself and that’s what I’m going to do.”

knowshon expected to emerge victorious in battle for top spot in the bronco backfield. from nfl.com:

The Broncos have a crowded backfield with Moreno, Buckhalter and LaMont Jordan in the mix, but can a pair of thirtysomething runners keep a young stud like Moreno off the field? That’s not likely. The rookie should develop into the top option in the team’s running game and will be off the board in the earlier rounds in all seasonal drafts. The winner of the Buckhalter-Jordan battle will be Moreno’s handcuff.

I went to the Capital One Bowl on January 1, and I
seen Knowshon play. ver sens I’ve been amazed
at the way he played. I love his style and the way
he carries the ball for over 15 yards a play. I’ve tried
to watch most of the games he played on youtube, and man does he have skills. I play football for my highschool in Albany Ga. We’re planning to win state
champs the year 2009. My number is the same as
Knowshon’s. Knowshon is my favorite player. Play
on my brotha!

Okay Jason, to you he’s #3, but to me he’s the #1
back in the nation, and I don’t care what no body
says. When I seen him get drafted 12th in the draft
but the first pick to the Broncos, now thats really
good. But I agree 100% with Jason for saying that
he’s a good Back!

Notes, Quotes
• Knowshon Moreno(notes) will make an impact for the Denver Broncos this season. The team didn’t draft Moreno with the 12th overall pick to sit on the bench all season.

He hasn’t been instantly installed as a starting tailback, however. LaMont Jordan(notes) and Correll Buckhalter(notes) are working ahead of him in offseason practices, but that doesn’t bother Moreno.

“Not at all,” Moreno said. “I’m just learning, they’ve been in the league eight or nine years. Coming behind them and learning from them and maybe one day making my way up there is awesome.”

Moreno was drafted as an every-down prospect. His running ability is clear, and Broncos coach Josh McDaniels raved about the way he did little things in college like pick up blitzes and catch the ball.

That makes Moreno a candidate to play a lot as a rookie, but his role is still rather unclear. Jordan knows the offense well, having been with McDaniels in New England last year. Buckhalter is an effective veteran, and he also wasn’t signed to sit the bench all year.

Moreno understands the Broncos have a lot of tailback depth, but he also feels like he has the talent to be a good NFL player.

“I’m definitely confident,” Moreno said. “I think a lot of guys in the backfield in that room can get the job done, any snap, anyone in that room. I’m trying to find my place and keep on learning.”

Even though McDaniels liked that Moreno is pretty polished for a rookie, he said he still has a lot of work to do.

“There’s always room for improvement, especially with pass protection and catching the ball and routes and running and reading the defenses,” Moreno said. “It’s a lot to learn and it’s a lot to work on so I’m going to work on all of those things.”

Some time ago, I really needed to buy a good car for my organization but I didn’t have enough cash and could not purchase something. Thank heaven my comrade suggested to get the mortgage loans at reliable creditors. Thus, I acted that and was happy with my short term loan.
